Internationalization in Teacher Education
5.-9. October 2020
Due to the current travel restrictions worldwide the first summer school “Internationalization in teacher education” will connect actors in teacher education in Cologne and our cooperating partners worldwide via a digital platform. Participants can be lecturers, professors, students and administrative staff in international offices.
Between October 5 – 9 2020, a variety of talks, lectures and discussion rounds will take place to give insights to different teacher education systems. In addition, interested parties will be given a platform to discuss challenges and chances of internationalization in teacher education.
To give participants a chance to further connect and discuss, everyone can host his or her own workshop or discussion round. Within these sessions, challenges and solutions to specific problems can be discussed, networks can be widened, cooperation can be discussed or started. To initiate these sessions, there will be a call for possible workshop hosts in July 2020. Topics connected to the wide area of internationalization of teacher education will be accepted. As an example for possible sessions we can already imagine: internationalization of the curricula, ongoing or future research projects, remote teaching, …
Aims of the UNITE Cologne Summer School
- Generating new and extend existing cooperations to worldwide partners in teacher training of the University of Cologne
- discussing e.g. opportunities & challenges of the internationalization of teacher training
- What should we work on together in the future?
- e.g. Joint publications?
